My love for colo(u)red denim is no secret. I wear my crimson Rag & Bone skinnies weekly and relish in complements. They go with so many different outfits, I consider them my fashion lay-up. And while many people might look at this photo and first notice Rachel’s Burberry studded metallic leather bowling bag (sold out) – I go ga-ga over her burgundy (merlot, magenta, purple, or “wine”) colored cords. Tucked into her Zara ankle booties, Rachel’s look is perfect for fall.

For those looking to start slowly, or keep it office appropriate, stick to basic blank skinny cords – I live in my J Brands! They’re so comfortable and soft they feeling like a cotton legging. So great for travel. They are a 10 with flats, boots or heels. A great one-pair-of-pants packing option. DONE!

= “Bad Teacher”…. and amazing clothes!

Cameron Diaz is wearing Gold Jennifer Meyer Jewelry (JMJ) “thin bangles with stone” on both wrists, in this still from her new movie “Bad Teacher”. Jennifer Aniston wore these same bracelets in “Just Go With It”, out earlier this year. Elizabeth Mosley (aka, Cam)’s entire wardrobe is top-notch. Funded by the men in her life (not her teaching salary), she’s nothing but covetable Christian Louboutins shoes and boots; and DVF, Michael Kors, and Calvin Klein dresses. Costume Designer Debra McGuire’s choice of Jennifer Meyer Jewelry is also a staple in Jules Cobb’s “Cougar Town” wardrobe, and has been seen on celebs Kate Hudson, Katie Holmes and Nicole Richie.

Overall, bad teacher = a great wardrobe.

Newly engaged, and very pregnant, Kate Hudson has recently been promoting her new movie “Something Borrowed”, based on Emily Giffin’s best-selling book. A quick beach-read (aka “chicklit”), this is a story you can’t put down. And somehow you’ll find yourself rooting for the best-friend / fiancée stealer – Ginnifer Goodwin. That’s how well Kate plays the character of Darcy… a real b***h. But what she lacks in human kindness, Darcy makes up for with her killer wardrobe we can’t help but love. Her white suit is complemented by her Fendi raffia and suede heels (no longer available), and brown Chanel hand bag (scroll to second photo – not available online). The height of her stilettos, rolled cuffs of her pants, and waist-tie (knotted, not bowed) give this menswear-inspired look sultry-spice… for a girl we quickly learn is anything but nice.

Kate (aka Darcy)’s beach badminton style (third photo) is equally covetable to her Manhattan-garb with her crocheted tunic, modern aviators, printed silk scarf (worn as a headband) and red-hot-summer nails. Both outfits remind us to try (and mix) the neutral tones of spring-summer 2011.

“the girls”

Reese Witherspoon c/o cdn.babble.com; Cameron Diaz c/o coolhitmusic.blogspot.com

Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz are both fans of THE GIRLS apparel, both wearing Tummy Control Capri Pants (style #7079) above. The $everyday workout leggings retail for ~$30. Favorite to Katie Holmes, Nicole Richie, Kate Hudson, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Roberts, Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Ashley Tisdale, and Amy Adams – it’s no surprise these crops are a BEST seller. Their snugging (not spreading) material keep your wobbly bits in place, so you can wear them before and after the gym… and anywhere your day takes you.

Reese rocked hers on the West Coast – choosing a navy hoodie and yellow retro Ray-Bans – while Cam went for a navy and red training jacket, accompanied by the most powerful accessory of all… boyfriend, New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez (not shown).

Water bottles in tow, both blondes remind us to stay hydrated. Thanks ladies, or should I say “girls”.

May’s monogrammed must-haves

LL Bean Tote necklace Charm towels J Crew Bikini stationary candles monogram earrings sunglasses ring

10 – monogrammed tote - L.L. Bean is just one of the many retailers who make great canvas tote bags, the finishing touch – your initials or name! They’re a great gift – I like to gift Mrs. plus their new surname to my girlfriends getting married. Reese Witherspoon (the new Mrs. Toth) is a fan, and so am I. These roomy personalized bags are the epitome of fashion meeting function. Making a personalized statement, they’ll take you from the beach to the gym with you life in tow.

9 – initial necklace – whether you go for a initial (or name) plate like Jennifer Zeuner’s Three Initial Pendant Necklace, you can’t go wrong with this signature piece. I first fell for this style when Lauren Conrad wore hers on “The Hills” a few years ago, and with Taylor Swift also donning her letters – it still tops my wish list. This also makes a GREAT gift, I have a very happy best friend (and a generous mother-in-law) to prove it. And for those looking for a smaller plate, you can take a play from Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and The City” with her infamous “Carrie” necklace. Single (double, triple) letters, crests and charms also work. If it’s good enough for Blake Lively

8 – initial charm – Tiffany & Co’s initial charms work on necklaces, bracelets, anklets and more (and they come in silver, yellow and rose gold). I wear my “K” on a Links of London (sweetie) bracelet, layered with my black and copper Friendship Bracelet. More mature than the Tiffany & Co heart charm many of us grew up wearing, yet still versatile enough you can wear it every day.

7 – monogrammed towels - Ralph Lauren offers customizable bath-wear. Dry off in style.

6 – initialed bikini bottoms - J.Crew allows you to monogram your beach bottoms. Subtle, sexy!!

5 – personalized stationary - I’m a stationary addict. I love great cards and paper. There’s nothing more classy then receiving a note, thank you, or invitation from someone on their monogrammed note cards and paper. The options are endless, but I love classic initials. Send your own mark.

4 – signature candles – use initial candles to lighten up your home and your life. Smells good!

3 – initial earrings – Sarah Chloe monogrammed earrings are a great reprieve from your daily pearl and diamond studs. I love them equally in silver, yellow and rose gold. Such great go-to that can take you from day to night InStyle (as seen in). Literally.

2 – customizable sunglasses - Prada recently came out with customizable Prada Private sunglasses. We’re constantly seeing label-covered glasses, why not wear your own logo with pride.

1 – initial ring - Jennifer Kaufman’s three initial gold ring has been on my wish list for two years. Make any woman in your life glow with this as a gift, or treat yourself for a commemorative piece that you’ll LOVE forever. The initials are subtle, but the size of the ring is all STATEMENT.

Because sometimes signature style, requires some signature pieces. Enjoy!! “KD”

Drew Barrymore’s fab fedoras

Photos: Drew Barrymore: Splash News

Drew Barrymore walks to the beat of her own drum – in life, love, and STYLE. Kudos girl!!

Choosing a brown velvet bucket-style fedora just five days after a bolder choice of blue and burgundy (paired with Ray-Ban “Green Lens Classic Gold Aviator Sunglasses”, J Brand denim leggings -not shown- and blue velvet lace-up Christian Louboutin oxfords -not shown-) Drew keeps her look young, fresh and unexpected. To channel your inner safari girl, try Free People’s “Charlie Tropper Hat” or Eugenia Kim’s “Velour/Pony Skin Fedora”. Or go bold with a big band like Coal’s “Considered Keys Fedora”. A royal purple “Velour Felt Fedora with Trim” is perfectly regal…

Never at a loss for a good hat, Drew’s also a fan of celeb-fave Eugenia Kim (as are Hilary Duff, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Leighton Meester). Love Eugenia’s newsboy “Marina”.

For girls looking for a subtle way to get your fedora-on, go for black belted Burberry. A fail-safe 10!

March must-haves: RESORT

“Vacation used to be a luxury, but in today’s world it has become a necessity.”

~ Author Unknown

Depending on where you live, spring is in the air. Here are my top 2011 resort picks:

10 - beach throw – Jonathan Adler is my m0851, J.Crew, Theory and J Brand of interior design… I LOVE him!! His hand made Peruvian creations never disappoint. Aside from his monogrammed initial (letter) and Union Jack pillows I just ordered for my new home, I’m currently coveting his Alpaca Squares Throw. Perfect for marking a square of sand your home away from home.

9 – cover up - I love a good cropped halter beach cover up… I just bought a navy velure Marc by Marc Jacobs one that’s very similar to Carmen’s Marc Valvo Beach Crop Jumpsuit cover up, but isn’t available online. It’ll be debuted at my best friend’s destination weddings 11.11 -”Thrilla!”

8 – Ray-ban vintage shades – these mainstays NEVER go out of style. I love these classic frames on men and women – in black or brown. You just can’t go wrong with Ray-ban’s iconic throw-backs.

7 – striped shirt (preferably over-sized and boat neck) – sailor stripes scream vacation, water, sun, sand; nautical heaven! For a more flattering fit choose thinner stripes (classic white and navy, black, red, yellow, gray, green…). And when wearing over-sized, keep  your bottoms fitted (or beach-bare). Don’t pair a loose top with loose linen pants… you’ll be swimming without water.

6 – monogrammable tote – I’ve loved anything monogrammed for as long as I can remember… initials, letters, engraving, crests, surnames, nicknames – tastefully branding your personal style can be cute and fun. So when you need a beach carry-all, go for gold and add a personal touch.

5 – short shorts (preferably pinstripe) – she likes short shorts… and so does HE! Again, a tasteful touch is key here but rocking the right high-hem on the beach is totally appropriate. These pinstripe J.Crew shorts give off a subtle sailor vibe on top of bikini bottoms, or can be dressed up for dinner with heels, gladiator sandals or even flips with a crisp white top (silk, linen, cotton…).

4 – patterned (Pucci) tunic – Pucci had me at, well… Pucci. When packing for a Southern local it’s smart to stick to whites, neutrals, stripes, and navy – but please don’t forget color. And patterned color at that… a pop of paisley, plaid, subtle floral, or polka-dots can diversify solids and stripes.

3 – straw sunhat - Carrie Bradshaw showed us how to chic-ly wear a big straw hat during her Mexi-coma in the first “Sex and The City” movie (her hat was Hermès and it’s no longer available). Save your skin from the sun’s harmful rays and protect your hair color with BIG STRAW style.

2 – linen pants – one of the few places in life where a drawstring’s acceptable, is on linen pants. The right drawstring and pants mind you. Comfort meets casual meets chic: beach-style. When wearing a looser fit, keep your top fitted and vice versa. Again, let’s save the swimming for water.

1 – white bikini - white is a big look of spring 2011 and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be worn on vacation… especially with a tan! Mix and match white tops and bottoms with patterns or solids – or wear white top and bottoms together. You can’t go wrong. Just be weary of thinner suits that are see-through. There’s no need to Janet Jackson observers. Let your beautiful style be the show.

monochromatic Halle

Photos (both): Halle Berry: Splash News

Halle Berry is the epitome of style and grace whether she’s on the red carpet, or just out and about. She often opens for all black, with leggings, skinny jeans and leather skinnies (above right).

In both pics, Halle’s wearing cropped black leather jackets. While the jackets are slightly different, their core cropped styles are the same and Halle successfully pairs them over longer tops. On the left she wears a black and navy striped sweater dress (love the cowl neck), and on the right she wears a flowing black top over rocker hot black leathings (leather leggings). Both tops are long enough to cover her behind, yet short enough to show off her gorgeous gams (highlighted in fitting leggings and leathings). Moderately heeled buckled boots with both outfits give the petite actress extra lift. The natural glamor girl completes both looks with her signature black sunglasses.

monochromatic Halle; monochromatic HOT.
