My love for colo(u)red denim is no secret. I wear my crimson Rag & Bone skinnies weekly and relish in complements. They go with so many different outfits, I consider them my fashion lay-up. And while many people might look at this photo and first notice Rachel’s Burberry studded metallic leather bowling bag (sold out) – I go ga-ga over her burgundy (merlot, magenta, purple, or “wine”) colored cords. Tucked into her Zara ankle booties, Rachel’s look is perfect for fall.

For those looking to start slowly, or keep it office appropriate, stick to basic blank skinny cords – I live in my J Brands! They’re so comfortable and soft they feeling like a cotton legging. So great for travel. They are a 10 with flats, boots or heels. A great one-pair-of-pants packing option. DONE!

Vanessa Minnillo’s wearing an Alexander Wang rocco duffle

Vanessa Minnillo’s wearing celeb-it-bag (Reese Witherspoon, Dakota Fanning and Kristin Cavallari are also fans): Alexander Wang’s rocco mini duffle. I have this bag, and I LOVE it.  It fits a ton and offers the best of slouchy and structured.

Autumn in New York

Autumn in New York: that special time of year when the leaves begin to change color, the air is crisp and the big apple is ripe with fall style! I took a stroll through the city’s meatpacking district, on the hunt for those perfect fall outfits and the city, as it always does this time of year, delivered.

Here’s a short sampling of some of my favorites – thank you to WATW‘s New York style models!!

I love the combination of green and purple in the first picture (above). The paisley scarf is the perfect accent to bring it all together and it works particularly well with the texture of the oversized silk tie. Gentlemen of New York, take note: this is what your competition looks like.

This outfit is full of personality! The heavy texture of the bag and dark colors are perfectly offset by the bright yellow hat and sweet ruffle ankle socks – a great balance for a very cute effect.

The epitome of cool. The perfectly worn leather jacket, studded motorcycle boots, tortoise shell shades, colorful watch and adorable polka dot tie deliver a relaxed but distinct point of view.

And last, but by no means least: I love the mid-century modern meets secret agent vibe to this outfit. Perfectly appointed accessories make this look super chic. The bag, by WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie (“the 24 hour travel Malpensa” can be bought from WANT Les Essentiels directly or from Opening Ceremony) – is so handsome (yes, handsome) it is almost impossible to ignore, and why would you want to? I won’t waste any time picking up my very own ‘MG’ emblazoned tote!

LA, are you jealous yet?
