< $125 – UGG Shearling Glove: comes in brown, camel and black leather – a cozy classic.
< $200 – A plaid scarf: not too-fashion-forward, but a soft statement that keeps him looking pulled together. This look works for the office and weekends.
< $500 – Alden® for J.Crew suede longwing bluchers: if he doesn’t know what shoes to wear with jeans on casual Friday or nights out, these are them! They also work with dress pants and a suit. They aren’t to be missed in black or dark brown leather either (a shoe in for a more conservative dresser – for the daring, check out the high tops).
Right about the time everyone starts wearing something, is when I stop loving it. So while I’m still a big supporter of an oversized men’s-style watch on a women’s wrist – I’m branching out from the popular Michael Kors go-tos (I’m down to three after selling my fourth on eBay). For the most bang for your buck, I suggest a staple silver, yellow or rose gold – and right now I’m several from Nixon’s women’s (and men’s) collection(s). The Crystal Bezel increases your statement, as does a touch of blue marble. I love all-white (available in ceramic for the big spenders; shockingly still less than CHANEL), and white and silver. All-black is stunningly chic (also available in ceramic; and by CHANEL with or without diamonds). Opposites attract with yellow gold and gun-metal. Rose gold and acetate also make a great pair. A statement watch is the first step to a perfect outfit everyday.
summer isn’t over… squeeze in all you can! I’m coveting this watch, bag and shoes to fall into fall.
Make a statement with a bold navy face and soft rose gold bezel and strap with Michael by Michael Kors “Bel Air” wristwatch. Even the name sounds regal. Clare Vivier’s “SeeVivier La Tropézienne” tote is the perfect casual yet chic bag to tote all weekend long, in the city or at the cottage. Big enough to fit your essentials, but small enough to keep it from turning into a suitcase… And lastly, J.Crew’s MacAlister wedge booties are a current take on desert boots that offer your legs (and derrière) a flattering lift. Fashion meets function when paired with white skinny jeans, short-shorts (a wedge heel doesn’t look trashy with a short hem-line like other high heels can – the daring can rock cut-off denim Daisy Dukes!), linen pants, a sundress, or skirt. Add a silk blouse (neutral of summer 2011 bright), and you’re set!
What do men need? Clothes. Stylish clothes. Few of them like to buy them for themselves, so occasions warranting gifts (like Father’s Day) are the perfect opportunity to lend a loving hand. My suggestions for Dad this year start with the lightweight shirt above, and continue with…
Every season MARC JACOBS introduces three new Limited Edition Unisex “Splashes” that everyone should know about. I discovered them with last summer 2010′s collection including “Apple”, “Pomegranate” and “Biscotti”. I followed up a winning “Apple” purchase with “Pomegranate” – both of which I’m still happily using as room spray (I’m forever spraying them all over my home) and perfume. The only problem with them being Limited, is that when they’re gone – and you can’t replace them. Thankfully MJ keeps things fresh with new scents every few months. This summer’s choice is between “Cranberry”, “Ginger”, and “Curacao”. Delicious. You can’t go wrong.
An added bonus, is the men in your life can wear this scent too. Making it efficient for travel (it comes with a 15 oz airport-ready bottle), and less likely to garner complaints of him leaving the house smelling like your perfume. Lastly, the gorgeous packaging makes is a perfect gift. DONE.
this ones for the boys! OK… admittedly it’s for us girls too – from the airport to the red carpet…
