I love a skinny black pant, they’re flattering and fashionable. Right now I’m coveting a (faux) leather black skinny legging. Most days and nights, I live in my J Brand black skinny jeans (I have four pairs in rotation – they are my uniform) but when it’s time to glam it up – get your shine on.

Kim wore her ‘Stealth’ with black leather ankle booties, exposing just the right amount of (sexy!!) skin before her pants start. Keeping everything else basic black, white and classic (even the subtle peacock feather necklace) works to let the shimmering pants work their magic. Hello airport-style.

Katherine’s ‘Stealth’ is less-subtle-more-statement while out in LA wearing gray suede slouched booties, layered scarves, and a python print bag. Her popping pink lips add finishing flare.

Who’s ‘Stealth’ gets your vote – Kim or Katherine? Subtle or statement?

I equally love motorcycle (“moto”) and riding boots for their fashion and function. A tall boot is just what the East Coast fall and winter call for and even in warmer cities like LA these boots play their part. Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Angelina Jolie share affection for black buckled motos, each adding touches of personal style. Add jeans, a coat, sunglasses, and you’re golden.

Beautify-your-biker-boots… just add buckles.

I’m feeling ponchos right now. And when they’re worn properly, I’m not afraid to admit it…

Blake captured perfect-poncho-style while picking out her Christmas tree in New York City last month. The black leggings tucked into KILLER distressed brown motorcycle boots bring her loosely draped Aztec wool 12th. by Cynthia Vincent “blanket sweater” to a 10!! Nothing but net…

Blake’s blanket is so popular it’s only in Petite online, thankfully many other designers are getting their not-so Joseph-technicolor dream coats on – from $$$lux investments to $everyday value.

The key to mastering this look is to let your poncho be the focus. Don’t mix in any other prints, bright colors or statements. Keep your bottoms fitted (skinny jeans or leggings) and dark in hue. And don’t scarf yourself – the material in your cape is all your neck needs. Blake’s blanket hangs loosely but it isn’t over-sized.  If you opt for something with more material, belt it at the waist to maintain your shape. A successful poncho displays a relaxed bohemian style, so keep it SIMPLE.

While you’re searching for the perfect-poncho, consider Blake’s blanket for creative inspiration.

Buckled boots are everywhere. Whether tall, ankle, mid-calf or over-the-knee this added touch is a welcome style-detail. Malin wears her Fiorentini + Baker’s with black skinny jeans, Ray-ban wayfarers, white tee, black leather motorcycle jacket and Yarnz soft gray leopard scarf. Rocker-HOT.

Malin’s Yarnz leopard scarf provides stuff competition for attention against her bold buckled boots. It’s oversized style makes a statement without overpowering the look. There are several competing trends in this outfit (black skinnies, mega-hardware boots, animal print, and Wayfarers., but it works because the color palette is kept to black, white and soft gray. When wearing more than one trend, play it safe by keeping to one print and a monochromatic theme.

Born in Sweden, Malin moved to Canada with her family at age two. She went to North Toronto High School and might just be one of the hottest things to ever come out of Canada…

♫ … Let’s hear it for New York, New York, New York… ♫

I’m in New York this week so I’d like to pay homage to the US headquarters of fashion. From street style to chic Upper East Side (insert Blair Waldorf here), there are so many personalized styles here you can’t help but love. Sandra Bullock pairs her cape with black skinnies, Ray Ban CATS 5000′s and mid calf open-slit boots for a perfect relaxed yet-so-stylish NYC 10. I love all-things Sandy B.

Cape’s are an instant update to your wardrobe, throw one on over jeans, leggings; anything – and you’re suddenly put together. It’s a look that don’t have to cost a fortune, but it will prevail for many seasons to come… Topshop has some of the best ones on the market right now. Tartan patterns are a do, as are stripes and/or fringe (notice Sandra’s subtle fringe). There are lot’s of $$$lux options too – speckled tweed is just one! So come on and cape yourself, SB-NYC style.

Sienna Miller mastered Parisian style in France this fall at the 21st Dinard British Film Festival pairing her Kate Spade Street Car Darya faux Cheetah bag with a nautical striped top, pleated denim, and snakeskin heels. My love for leopard is nothing new, but I have to give Sienna due props for her unexpected pairings. She also successfully dons two animal prints in the same outfit, without being matchy-matchy, tacky or trashy. The loose cropped black sweater perfects the look.

Sienna’s successful pleats also deserve acknowledgment. When we think of pleated denim, mom jeans come to mind but SM’s kept her look sexy with rolled oversized-bf-style trousers. The finishing touch? Snakeskin heels. This look could easily falter to transgender with flats (although a skinner style is cute with boots – pleated skinnies… who knew??). With her dark coke bottle glasses, Sienna’s nothing but stellar. Well done girl, whatever you wear in 2011; we’ll be watching.
