10 – monogrammed tote - L.L. Bean is just one of the many retailers who make great canvas tote bags, the finishing touch – your initials or name! They’re a great gift – I like to gift Mrs. plus their new surname to my girlfriends getting married. Reese Witherspoon (the new Mrs. Toth) is a fan, and so am I. These roomy personalized bags are the epitome of fashion meeting function. Making a personalized statement, they’ll take you from the beach to the gym with you life in tow.
7 – monogrammed towels -Ralph Lauren offers customizable bath-wear. Dry off in style.
6 – initialed bikini bottoms -J.Crew allows you to monogram your beach bottoms. Subtle, sexy!!
5 – personalized stationary - I’m a stationary addict. I love great cards and paper. There’s nothing more classy then receiving a note, thank you, or invitation from someone on their monogrammed note cards and paper. The options are endless, but I love classic initials. Send your own mark.
4 – signature candles – use initial candles to lighten up your home and your life. Smells good!
3 – initial earrings – Sarah Chloe monogrammed earrings are a great reprieve from your daily pearl and diamond studs. I love them equally in silver, yellow and rose gold. Such great go-to that can take you from day to night InStyle (as seen in). Literally.
2 – customizable sunglasses - Prada recently came out with customizable Prada Private sunglasses. We’re constantly seeing label-covered glasses, why not wear your own logo with pride.
1 – initial ring -Jennifer Kaufman’s three initial gold ring has been on my wish list for two years. Make any woman in your life glow with this as a gift, or treat yourself for a commemorative piece that you’ll LOVE forever. The initials are subtle, but the size of the ring is all STATEMENT.
Because sometimes signature style, requires some signature pieces. Enjoy!! “KD”
I love a good lay…er. I layer everything, things you wouldn’t think of – from my rings to my scarves – Blake shows us the striking effect of a solid black pashmina over a gray plaid complement. Done!
When wearing more than one scarf, keep one a solid color (less daring dames can start with a neutral white, cream, camel, gray, or basic black – more daring diva’s might opt for one of spring 2011′s brights to really offset and pop); the second scarf should be a print or pattern of some sort. From animal patterns, tartan, polka dot, paisley, floral, checkered or even a subtle or BOLD tie-dye (hello Vanessa Hudgens…). If you prefer to start slow, go for a single two toned scarf… this is great for petite women where too much material can swallow their frames.
While dark colors and heavier prints channel fall and winter, you can lighten the look into spring with florals, pastels and softer prints. Matchy-matchy should be avoided… Mix. Mix. MIX.
I’m feeling ponchos right now. And when they’re worn properly, I’m not afraid to admit it…
Blake captured perfect-poncho-style while picking out her Christmas tree in New York City last month. The black leggings tucked into KILLER distressed brown motorcycle boots bring her loosely draped Aztec wool 12th. by Cynthia Vincent “blanket sweater” to a 10!! Nothing but net…
Blake’s blanket is so popular it’s only in Petite online, thankfully many other designers are getting their not-so Joseph-technicolor dream coats on – from $$$lux investments to $everyday value.
The key to mastering this look is to let your poncho be the focus. Don’t mix in any other prints, bright colors or statements. Keep your bottoms fitted (skinny jeans or leggings) and dark in hue. And don’t scarf yourself – the material in your cape is all your neck needs. Blake’s blanket hangs loosely but it isn’t over-sized. If you opt for something with more material, belt it at the waist to maintain your shape. A successful poncho displays a relaxed bohemian style, so keep it SIMPLE.
While you’re searching for the perfect-poncho, consider Blake’s blanket for creative inspiration.

Last Monday we saw Blake (aka Serena) light up the screen in her wool Tibi Sebastian Blazer, and Of Two Minds pleated skirt. Her killer Carlos Falchi python tote hits this look out of the park…
The irony of a menswear inspired boyfriend-style tweed blazer offset by the feminine silk detail of Blake’s paisley and floral skirt works. Her opaque tights keep the short skirt from getting trampy, and her gray leather shoe-booties are also a perfect match. While this look gone array could have channeled more eclectic than Upper East Side. Eric Daman’s mixing and matching is another 10.

Jennifer Aniston wow-ed at The John Stewart “Daily Show” in August in Dolce & Gabbana’s short bouclé tweed mini-dress. A few months later, we can take this look into fall with gray or black tights, and pumps or high boots (with a short hem a flat-heeled-boot is a nice contrast, keeping you from channeling yourself some “Pretty Woman”. You could wear a similar fitted tweed sheath with a bit of extra length, or lose a few inches of length to show off your own gams… JA-style.
Halle Berry’s chosen tweed is a classic Giambattista Valli suit skirt. The highlight? The gorgeous black leather trim that truly brings sexy back. And lastly, Blake Lively loooved herself some tweed in a Ralph Lauren Women’s classic brown tweed vest (worn at Ralph Lauren’s New York Fashion’s Night Out) – showing us that even a small touch of tweed can go a long way…. to perfection.
Whether you take your tweed out on the town – wear it suited to the office; as a lady-who-lunches; honoring a benefit; enjoying high-tea – or rock the delicious detail solo as a blazer or vest mixed with skinny denim à la Blake… this added texture is the perfect finishing t(wee)-ouch.

In most parts of the country (and continent) shorts are tucked away until next spring – summer… but Blake (Serena) shows us how to take short jeans shorts into fall. With tall black Equestrian-rain-boots, and exposed knee-high socks – we can push this look on warmer days until snowfall.
Blake’s rugged denim and buckled-boots on bottom are beautifully offset by her preppy sailor striped navy and white fitted button-down on top; think mens-country-wear meets Upper East Side. Her dainty gold charm bracelet hangs off her right wrist giving a gorgeous hint of femininity, with the gold-and-bronze hued paisley hanker-chef scarf loosely tied around her neck offering the perfect final touch. It’s nice to see a way to wear wardrobe staples like shorts more months of the year, just as it’s nice to see the irony of different looks (preppy, Upper East Side, rugged, menswear, scarf-chic, School-girl, distressed denim) all coming together: seamlessly. Serena-Style.
