the rantings of a fashion-addicted-college-student

November 3rd, 2010

How do you know you’re a college student?  A 12:00 pm lecture is too early. Your roommate eating your food is a crime. You wish you spent half the amount on schoolwork as you do Facebook lurking. Lastly, you know you are in college when your clothing options are limited and shopping trips are few and far between. If you just nodded your head, I’m sorry to inform you that you’ve been misled. So many students are under the impression that to be fashionable, one has to spend mass amounts of money to keep up with their favorite celebrity icon. It’s time to put away those pajamas that you’ve worn to class three times this week, and read up on a few fashion staples that will ensure you can still keep that beer money safe. When dealing with items to wear to class, you always have to keep comfort in mind. There’s nothing worse than having to re-adjust yourself mid-lecture. No matter your body type, the weather, or where you are headed on campus, these celebrity inspired looks will certainly remain in constant rotation in your wardrobe.

New Life

November 3rd, 2010

As an avid shopper, every new opportunity in life means to me a new shopping opportunity. When I found out 5 months ago that I would be having a baby, and a corresponding baby bump, I was excited to get started on the process of dressing that bump. Little did I know that what they say is true…when you’re pregnant, everywhere you look you see other pregnant woman…including many of our favorite icons!

One of my favorite new bump looks for the weekend is to wear leggings with a slouchy t-shirt, a rockin jacket or a blazer and flats – a look favored by one of my favorites, Nicole Richie as well as Kourtney Kardashian!  It’s very simple, but very comfortable; something every pregnant woman craves!

As for the office, I have given up on anything with a waistband.  So for me, it’s all about the dresses!!!  Opt for a fitted one to show off that bump like Kourtney’s here.  If you live somewhere colder, put on some cute tights, flats, a jacket and you’re set!  Or you could try a cute sweater dress like Claudia Schiffer.

ride wit me: A-list style

November 3rd, 2010

Cruising down Rodeo Drive, you’ll see the flashiest rides that money can buy.  When you’re accustomed to driving in style and nothing but the best will do, you want the same for your “mini”.

Don’t fret that you’ll have to wait for Xzibit to “Pimp Your Ride”.  There is an affordable option and it just happens to be the best all-purpose double stroller on the market.  The Phil & Ted’s stroller is the finest import from New Zealand since the Flight of the Concords and Keisha Castle-Hughes.

Here’s what I love about the Phil & Ted’s.

-       Smooth ride with its inflatable rubber wheels creates a perfect setting for your baby to fall asleep.  Let me repeat, your baby will FALL ASLEEP… see below☺!!
